A Visit from Love

I posted this on my LJ a few months ago, and no harm posting it here again.

“You’ll be safe with me…”

She had flame-red hair,
With ice-blue soul and wide-eyed stare.
Cold and warm fingertips,
Malice and comfort on cherry-red lips.

She had faint pale scars on her face,
Down her cheek and neck they grace.
Silverbells tinkled when she smiled,
As her flaming locks went wild.

I took a step closer to the girl,
Her face snow white and purest pearl.
Trapped within patience and hurt
Sound of his name and bright alert.

I asked why she was living on,
When seconds later Love was gone.
She whispered in her magical tune,
An epiphany t’was revealed soon.

“Love isn’t love if you forget
The reason why you ever met.”

Don’t forget Love.

1 Corinthians 13 : 4-7
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.
